​Our exciting summer camps at the Alligator Creek location are the perfect way for kids ages 7-11 to explore the wonders of South Florida’s nature! From June 1st-26th, your child can sign up for one of four action-packed weeks filled with lessons, outdoor excursions, hands-on experience, games and crafts.  There will also be demonstrations and activities from outside organizations such as Peace River Wildlife, Save Our Harbor, Charlotte County Mosquito Control, and more.  Don't miss out on the adventure — spots are limited, so sign up today!

Week 1 - June 1 - 5:  The Birds and the Beetles

During this week, campers will learn all about birds and bugs. How they fly, what they eat, where they live, and how important they are to each other and us! After this week, interacting with them won't be so scary!

Week 2 - June 8 - 12:  Crafting Off the Land

This week, campers will take a look behind them, at all the things they use and throw away. They’ll learn how things can be reused, and what tools the earth gives us to reduce our impact on the planet.

Week 3 - June 15 - 19:  Ecosystem Excavators

During this week, campers will be digging deep into Florida's unique ecosystems. They’ll learn about the native flora and fauna in their very own backyards, the roles they play, and how important they are to our environment!
 

Week 4 - June 22 - 26:  Nature Detectives

This week, campers will be unraveling the mysteries of nature. They’ll learn about life cycles, where animals go when we're awake, and try to hunt down the biggest mystery of all, the Florida “Swamp Ape”.
 

 

Important information:

 

• Our camp rate is $200.00 per week, serving children ages 7-11.  Drop-off is at 9:00 a.m., and pickup is at 3:00 p.m.

• Pre camp care is available from 8 am - 9 am at $10.00 per day.  Post camp care is also available from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm at $10.00 per day.  These choices are available on the registration/sign-up form.  Pre and post care payments will also be accepted separately from sign-up, on a daily basis, if you are unsure of your needs in this regard, at registration.  Please note that if you are late for normal pick-up at the end of the camp day, you will be charged $10.00 for post camp care.

 

• All campers should come prepared each day with a refillable water bottle, preferred sunscreen & insect repellent, and a packed lunch with extra snacks unless otherwise instructed. ​

CHEC camps take place within a nature preserve and offer campers the opportunity to explore native ecosystems and wildlife. To do so, appropriate attire, materials, and behavior are required to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all. Please do not hesitate to reach out to make sure CHEC camps are the best fit for your little explorer.
