About the event

Take a walk on the WET side with a walk through a wetland!: Join us for a naturalist-guided wet walk at the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center’s Alligator Creek Preserve! This adventure will be co-led by Sarah Denison Williams of Big Waters Land Trust and Ashley Cook of the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center. As we explore the wetlands together, you’ll discover the plants and wildlife that thrive here and learn why protecting the natural lands around Charlotte Harbor is so important for both people and nature

The walk is approximately 1–2 miles on natural trails and through shallow wetlands. Be prepared to get your feet and lower body wet; water levels may reach waist-deep depending on conditions. Please bring plenty of drinking water and wear comfortable outdoor clothing that can get wet and muddy. Buggy conditions are likely; protective clothing, netting, and extra bug spray are highly recommended. Closed-toe shoes that securely strap or tie to your feet are required. No flip-flops or slides.
